Dimples in parts

I got a set of Ferrari interior trim trim from a customer a few weeks weeks ago that has thousands of dimples in the epoxy. They look like somebody drilled tiny dimples and clear coated over over them. They are mostly consistent, meaning they fall in in the intersections of the weave. They aren’t everywhere, but they are in in several spots on each part.

I tried applying two costa of resin, sanding, and two layers of Duratech but they come back. I’m I’m assuming I just don’t have enough material on the surface to bury everything.

The dimples also somewhat vanish vanish after the parts cool down.

Anybody Anybody know know how to fix this or why it is?

Porosity buried on the laminate side of the carbon? Air bubbles expanding and contracting…or just funky post curing…

Struggling to see the problem in those pictures, but are you sure it’s not the resin fish-eyeing?

Definitely not fish-eyeing. They reapear in the same spots after sanding and subsequent coats of resin. Days in between. I’ll post more pics.

The only time I’ve seen this before is when I got some air bubbles in a part a few months ago. I took a thin needle tool and dug out the air bubbles. I then filled them with clear coat, clear coated heavily over the top. When I buffed and polished a few days later the heat from the buffer did that.

However, I find it hard to believe that another company would have done the same thing to almost a dozen parts, and to hundreds of pin holes. And on an overlay? I have no clue how you’d get air pockets in an overlay… The customer sent these to me to fix it. What we are doing now is sanding them down real heavily, and we’ll be coating them with several layers of epoxy. Sand, duratech, clear.
