Dax Rush Carbon Fibre Scuttle

Started laying up the 2 part scuttle mould with the spread two racing stripe design to match the bonnet scoop http://www.compositescentral.com/showthread.php?t=10645 and some spread tow in the foot pedal area.

Cutting out templates for the firewall side

Laying the first carbon twill with the correct weave orientation to match the design.

Cutting around the pedal box and offering up the template for the area in front of the window

Cutting out template for the inner area above the dashboard

All the components for the first layer.

F1 keeping me entertained

Two compound curves with no cuts

Starting to layup the biaxial carbon fibre 4 layers.

Adding some 2mm soric in some choice places

All layed up !

Peel ply and infusion mesh

Vacuum drop test

Preparing degassing chamber and catch pot

Infusion time

Ghetto table oven got the mould up to 67c for 8 hours and then it cooled to a low of 40c for 8 hours using the heated table, 1/2 days and split the mould

The new scuttle :slight_smile:
