Cutting(not Trimming) a finished carbon product

Okay here’s what i want to do:
I want to buy a stock style carbon fiber hood. Cut some slots in the middle section of the hood to create some louvers. I have read very general instructions

You can read some info here about it:http://www.europeancarweb.com/projectcars/0206ec_bmw_m3_heat_dissipation/index.html

I’d like to do the same exact thing. What i want to know is, why did he use an airbrush in that picture?

I know the owner of that vehicle and he told me that the guy just heated the carbon, slotted and folded it. When everything cooled down again it was rock solid with NO distortion. Is this possible?

That’s a sharpie, not an airbrush.

I would try to perfect the process on some flat pieces before I screw up a new hood.

so what is the final verdict on this then? Possible yes or no? Tips on how to do it?
