Guys, what is this? I’m seeing a few resins labelled with this word on it, but can’t find a description of it…
It’s a brand of resins from Scott Bader.
We use a lot of it for tooling.
I see, I thought it was more than that, like a certain kind of chemical composition or something.
Thanks.
Is the Scott Bader tooling gelcoat ok? I have been searching for TG and found that they sell their products over here.
the scott bader tooling gel is very good.our composites factory uses lots of it.They buy so much from scott bader they recently developed a new rtm resin especially for them.I use the regular crystic resins a lot for molds etc.
What does your composite factory make? I mean, is this your regular job as an aside to what you show on here?
I’ll have to see if I can find an outlet for their products somewhere overhere.
Our composite wing makes all our bus parts as well as work for outside contractors.
They are currently doing bodies for funeral cars!.The entire front and rear ends as well as most of the sides of our buses are composite now to try and cut down weight.I will try and get some pics of the hybrid las Vegas bus front to post on here.
I design the heating and air con for the vehicles, was offered a job in the new rtm plant but money is better where I am.The carbon fibre is only my hobby.
Yes some pics of your work are always welcome, even the Hearses…
Thanks for the thumbs up, I found that my local supplier is an outlet for SB products, in fact they say they are the largest in England so quite an unexpected result there as they have no stock of Epoxys or anything ‘exotic’ like CF, CK etc.
I’ve put up quite a few pics already. Check out the “sticky” threads at the top of Composites Talk forum.
heres a couple of pics of our latest bus.Entire front and rear ends and most of the sides are composite.Roofs are alloy but we are currently looking at changing that to frp as well to save more weight and cut down on cost.

Now that’s a cool lookin’ bus! Think they would like to sponsor my funny car team…We’d sure look good in that trick lookin’ bus!
Now that’s no mop and bucket Polyester job, what kind of materials and process do you use there?
i would love to see your molds for them too!!
Some of the parts are hand laid or chop gun, some are rtm.
Depends on how complex the parts are.The larger parts have core materials of various types. These buses are for las vegas.I will try to get some pics of the various molds
