couple questions.. resin and fabric grades

ok!
so i started working with carbon fiber last night and i REALLY love it… its fun to do and i wana keep doing it…
only 2 problems!
the resin is WAY to smelly i got high off it last night and didnt like it at all lol
is there any LESS smelly brads out there? i love working with the stuff… but i cant if it stinks THAT bad!

also!
whats the deal with grades of fabric? i just need it for cosmetic no strucural uses… what grade could i get and what does the rating system mean?

THANKS!

You should switch to epoxy resin instead of polyester resin. It doesn’t smell nearly as much and it’s not as dangerous to work with. The grades usually refers to how thick and heavy the fabric is. For cosmetic applications, you should stick with 3K and approx 4-6 oz.

ok!
where should i get that epoxy resin from? any good place?
thanks!

Try West System. That one is available pretty much everywhere on the internet. Or you can try US Composites’ own resin system. System 635 I think it’s called. You can get that at www.uscomposites.com
