I have a convection oven
110V. 15Amps digital up to 500F with a J thermocouple
I am trying to find a controller to be able to ramp and soak
In the jewelry industry they have this kind of controller where you just plug the power of the kiln and the thermocouple into the controller and that is it
My question is does it exist the same kind of controller for a convection oven?
If somebody has an idea it will be helpfully
I see a lot PID but my issue is I am not very good in electricity
Do you think I can use a controller for a kiln that is rated up to 2000F ?
I’m trying to find an easy plug and play if possible
Thank’s
I have ASCON XE serie

It’s ok but I can’t do a slower ramp how I need. You can change heating and cooling ramps and control different outputs

Thank you
This is a PID
The PID is only a part of the controller
What I’m looking for is a complet temperature ramps and soaks controller ready to plug and play to my oven
This exist for jewelry and ceramic kiln but they are rated up to 2000 degre F
My oven is up to 500 F so I’m looking for a controller who will work with a convection oven
There is no plug and play for oven controllers. PIDs are the way to go, but they have to be programmed. Hard, but the only way. There is no easy mechanical way to do it. You would need the PID and a solid state relay to handle switching the oven/heaters on and off. There just is no other way to control a ramp and soak.
Is this something to ramp control ?
“KILN FURNACE OVEN ESPRESSO COFFEE MACHINE” Oh, I love Ebay. Sell a PID for a kiln, or coffee maker. Yes, a coffee maker needs a PID.
Anyway, some PIDs you can program, others are just temp controllers that turn on and off. Be careful.
Thank you
I think I will go with a controller ramp and soak from the jewelry industry
I use to make jewelry and so I know there is some in the market
I will connect one of them an see
It need to bypass the digital setpoint timer controller that I have already in my oven
If it doesn’t bypass then I will have to connect the elements directly to the new controller this should not be a big problem and I can get support from any electrician
Thank you for your help
For the simplest PID system what are the most basic parts needed?
What makes a PID hard to program?
Shouldn’t be difficult if you have time to spend and you understand electricity
That is why I am looking into easier solution
Anyway you need a PID who do ramp and soak
A solid state relay
A thermocouple
A power connection
A thermocouple connection
And also a connector for your elements
Then you need to wire everything together the right way
Me I already have an oven with a digital controller who don’t ramp and soak so I’m trying to find an external Controller who will bypass the actual one without to have to rewire
