Composites Oven

I’m looking for some fresh ideas on building a composites oven.

I actually need 2 ovens.

1 will just be heated to 100F and have air circulation for even heating.

The second oven i need to have a temp control, but it will not be heated over 350F. Also some type of timer would be nice as i get busy doing many tasks and can’t babysit the oven… unless it buzzes very loudly at me when the time is up or ready to be ramped again. Preferably this oven will have controlls from 100 to 350F. If two types of heating elements are necessary that would be ok. one for the lower temp and another for the higher range.

I don’t mind if it uses home oven parts so long as i can evenly heat the inside. I don’t mind if it uses foil covered foam so long as the foam doesn’t give off fumes. Double insulated is ok too.

What are you oven ideas? Winter is coming and i’m also wanting to change back to epoxy resin but want a good surface finish with very minimal air bubbles in the parts without the cost of autoclaving.

Start posting your oven ideas!

I would suggest looking for a used oven. If you only need a small size oven you can easily can find a good deal on one either on ebay or the countess other used oven dealers around. Making a homemade oven to cure prepregs at 350F could cause many problems. If you said you just want to make an oven for 150-200f cure I would say go for it.
