Has anyone herd of Abaris Training Resources Inc? I’m looking to take advance tooling course and was wondering the credibility of the school.
Thanks
Luis:)

Reply anyone
I’ve heard them mentioned so much, but I don’t know much about them. ONE person told me that it was useless and expensive, but this person also has been doing composites for 20 years…so it might be bias (like my boss telling me SAMPE tutorials and sessions are pointless…he is a PhD, i’m just a BA tech…eh)
I you have no experience in layup work, repair, and whatever else they ahve, i’m sure it will be helpful to some extent, especially if you don’t have anyone to train you!
IMO save your money and just get your hands dirty. Actual practice and the internet are probably a better route in general.
If serious just go for a job, a technical school wouldn’t teach you anymore or faster than an entry level job at a composites manufacturer. And this way you’ll be getting paid instead of paying.
I completely disagree. That’s the problem with most of the composites industry right now. Very few workers have proper training. Just look around these and other forums, and you’ll realize very few people even design or make GOOD parts.
Do you want to fly on a plane made by people that learned on the job from others with no actual composites education?
i have been to the abaris to take a few classes and give a demo for my company. I honestly didn’t learn alot from the classes, but i did pick up some new tricks and teqniques that were very helpfull. If your new to composites or have very little experience then abaris would be a good idea or wanting to learn something new technique that they have a class for.
theres a school in utah that has a composites program. i wanna say the name of the school was DAT. look it up. the pricing wasn’t bad from what i remember. i was planning on going there but decided to leave composites a hobby.
