composite phd

Dear all,
I am about to do a PhD in the composite field. It is about the residual stress induced by the fabrication process.

But I would like to know if this domain is very interesting or not. Because if I do the PhD it is to find a good job later. So I want to know if this field has many oulets or not.

I have not heard much about it, however I can see where it might be a good thing to look at, seeing we are moving into a large realm of composite vehicles, and wind blades. They see A LOT of stresses, and some from the actual fabrication.

My opinion is that the subject is quite important in industrial standards today. To fullfill the task you have to gain strong experience on parts designing AND manufacturing: the PhD is only where you will begin with…
