codes or numbers

Hi everyone,

I looked everywhere, here and on the web, and can’t find what exactly mean the numbers in fiberglass woven cloth description. Ex: CODE: E-7628-48-241

I know about the E, for e-glass, the 48, for the width in inches, and the 241, for 241 yards roll. But the 7628, I know it has to do with the ratio of fibers, but can’t read them.

Please help me!!!

Thanks in advance, JJ

who is the manufacturer/weaver? Did you check their website? I know BGF has a 7648 style glass, it is a 4-harness 5.93oz.

These codes are manufacturer specific. Best is to find out who made the stuff, and ask them.

What HoJo said. the 7628 is prob the style of glass, the rest, as long as you KNOW it’s the right #, is correct on your part. E glass, 48" etc. Easier to make a part # that explains what it IS, than to have to cross ref. your part number to the product all the time, when things change, such as JUST the style, or JUST the width.

I second both of these explanatons. The fabrics I use are labeled 4387 and 4562. To Textile Products Inc (the weaver) this means a 2x2 twill bidirectional made with Toray T7000 12k and a Uni made with Toray T700 12k but to anyone else its just random numbers.

Contact that manufacturer and find out!

So it has nothing to do with the ratio of warp/weft fibers?

Here’s a link of the product:

By the way, anyone knows this distributor?

Thanks guys.

Hi all,

I hope this may help you.

Yes, it helps me. Got what I was looking for.
