There are some plans to make your own routers. I never looked at them much, because I never had a need. Recent talk on here reminded me about these websites!

Hope it helps anyone wanting to build one!

been looking at getting a new one, looking something that can work with very small engravings but also larger cut outs etc, looking at the excitech shm one. what size or make would be best for engraving and also using to cut cf?

very good info on this site at the end of the post, im going to start making my CNC hopefuly in a month or so, although im not going to make it out of wood, im going to use 80/20 8020.net just looking around for all the right electrical stuff, most of which you can find on ebay. im going to take a lot of photos and make a better and more accurate system. then the one they show you how to make on the website below.

I have a Klinger MC4 programmable controller that I wouldn’t mind trading for a nice vacuum pump.

Joe what kind of vacuum pump you looking to get?? i have a few

I’ve been using a Parker vacuum generator but I’d like to get a Gast or something comparable. Currently I’m just making RC boat parts but I do want to make a few under hood parts for my Z06 once I get more experience under my belt.

I wouldn’t mind building a prototype and then produce CNC routers for sale. A second business perhaps. I love metal working. A CNC lazer would be cool for cutting, but I would imagine would cost tens of thousands of $ to build one… and then a crap load of know how.

Pretty amazing the guy built a cnc router inside his home. Thing I don’t like is using wood or mdf for parts of the machine. I’d rather use metal. LOL I could hear him now… damn it’s too humid and my linear slide is binding.

Check your PMs and fix your signature.

Thanks.
