Clear pin hole filler

Have any of you guys used this stuff?
I guess you just wipe it on then you can just spray clear right over it and it will turn clear as well.

Any tips on using it??

I’ve used it and it came out terrible… it never became “clear” and had white dots all over my carbon…

NOTE: I don’t know if this stuff has an expiration date, but when I tried it 2 years back, I was wondering if it was because it got “old.” I never cared to try and figure it out, I just perfected my process. For what its worth, i think it did smooth out the pin holes before clear coating, however, like i said, it was visible where I applied it

bummer! the sales lady was pretty convinced it would turn clear. i will ask and see what she says.

I had never heard of this product, and I just checked out the link and read up on it. The site says that the product appears as off-white dots (the same as you describe), but then the white dots turn totally clear once the clear is sprayed? Are you saying that the white dots were still there, even after you cleared?

i mentioned that others had issues and they replied the following.

they are simply not adding enough thinner (reducer) to their clear mix ratio. Clears vary a lot and some are so thick that they need thinned down a little so it will soak into the Wonder-Fil so it disappears. I would love for anyone who had problems to try this, or contact us for further help. Wonder-Fil really is THE SOLUTION to pinholes

I would think some black dye may just make it a black spot filler. It could work in theory

Why dont you just turn the air pressure way down when spraying. If you have a stubborn pinhole after doing that imediately use a toothpick, rub it over the pinhole and quickly spray more clear over the spot. You can thank me later

I have never sprayed clear so screwing with that might cause more issues.

Also the pin hole filler worked awesome and just like they said. I did two set ups, I let it sit over night and the other I sprayed right after putting it on. The disappeared both times and I can’t even find where it was. Also I used the spray max 2k. The only issue remaining now is the dust!

Been doing it this way for 5 years and works good. If there are two or three methods its just another tool in the box

I have been dealing with a similar issue. Many years back, I worked in the auto repair industry. On the tail end of that career I was learning windshield repair, filling fish eyes, chips and even minor cracks. We used a UV cure clear that was injected into the cavity, it is fairly fluid and cure time is extremely short one it is hit with UV light.

I keep coming back to this process and wonder if it would be a viable solution for a clear repair.

If you have a pinholes you should change the method of manufacturing  Time for filling pinholes is not worth it. I tried many products for pinholes and the best one was the fast clear coat as Dyna Clear 3000.
