Civic Engine Cover

Here is my latest project. It is a valve cover ummm cover for the 88-91 civic SOHC, and 92-95 Civic DX motors. It just goes over your valve cover and your sparkplg wires and oil cap hold it in place

Man problems thats great work!

Im guessing thats ver. Are you going to use anything underneath like foam/rubber or just putting it straight over. Whatever it looks great!

it is 2 layers of 10oz carbon and infused with UV resistant and can handle up to 300 degrees.

as you can see in the circles the weave is weird. Those are cnc cut circles that are infused with the product that is why they are perfect circles. I do not have a cnc cutting machine so I had to cut the circle with another company and infuse them in

Nice job, but I am not understanding what you are saying about the cnc holes.

the holes are a composite material that is about 1/20 of an inch thick but cnc cut to be a perfect circle. Then I put those around the circles in the molds and infused with them in the mold

so are they in a cloth form when you lay them up? show us pics

the holes are soild and made before I start on it. They are a compressed plastic. Then I put them over the holes in the molds when the gel coat it tacky to hold them in place then infuse from there. This is a part where they have to be perfect or it will not fit, smaller and it will not go on, larger and the spark plug wires will not hold it in place

Here is the underside where you can see the circles better

Well im pretty sure i understand the ring bit now (i think lol) nice simple idea well done!

Have you used csm underneath? or is that a special paint?

yeah, the surface is different than what i get from my peel ply. what is the crinkles and wrinkles on the backside caused from

oh that is some new infusion fiberglass I had. It is 1/2oz with flow media in it and it becomes part of the laminate. I was a sample from a company. It is hard to work with though
