Chemical Release agent over 600 grit sanded surface?

Hey guys. Quick question I was hoping someone had some experience with. I’m making some side skirts for my car. Its a race car so these are kinda quicky, one off parts that don’t need to look amazing. The mold is a fiberglass mold, with orange tooling gelcoat. Since its a bit of a time crunch and looks arent that high on my list, could I do the chemical release steps over 600-800 grit sanded surface? The chemical release agents I use are Chem Trend’s ChemSeal followed by their PMR EZ90 Chemlease. This setup is slick. Hoods and bumpers can be pulled from molds by my bare hands it releases so well. I’ve just never really tried the stuff over not a perfectly polished surface. In input would be appreciated.

Your fine, rock on bro.

I’m sure it will be fine , but I would just do a small test patch before you commit to the full job.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I decided to take it to 1000 grit. Seal coats are already done. Release coats tomorrow, and then we shall see. I was leaning towards I will be fine, but wanted some input.

I’ve released off 60 grit without issues…
