Hey all, I’m an undergraduate student in mechanical engineering going to school in San Luis Obispo. I do various composites work with my school’s Human Powered vehicle team and have a huge interest in composite structure design and manufacturing. I’m looking to expand my knowledge in the field and hopefully work professionally with composites.

Anyone else here an avid cyclist? Currently I have a bum hand so I’m looking for something to keep me busy. A composite bike frame is in the works in the near future for me, so I’ve come to these forums for general advising.

I look forward to joining the community!

I recently joined for similar reasons! Undergrad in ME, but Im working on the Mini Baja. Nice to have another SAE guy around!

My mother is an avid cyclist…she averages 40 miles a day. Its nuts. I prefer things with motors.

My reason for posting is there is a ‘carbon fiber bike build’ on youtube. I dont know about the quality since I didnt watch all of the chapters, but it was a great way to get some basic understanding.
