CF tubes

I want to make some CF tubes, I bought CF Braided Biaxial Sleeve, what would be the best method for making them, I was thinking with a PVC mandrel, and impregnating it by hand Epoxy by the way, and then vacuum bagging the piece, or how could I do it with infusion?

Best Regards,

Alejandro,

i have been making shafts. depending on your need this may not be cost effective, but i have been having terrific results using bladder molding. i have a couple threads on it. http://compositescentral.net/showthread.php?t=4390
total cost was about $1000 for two piece aluminum mold about 54" long. hope this helps. otherwise, sollercomposites has a video with hand layups using shrink film.

Tried this but you end up with a bad surface finish. The best way a small run of cosmetically pleasing tubes is the way drewp has been doing it.

It depends if you are after the inside of the tube to have the finished surface or the outer surface to have the finished surface. Having a mandrel and an outer mould would give you a finished surface inside and out
