practice practice practice.
Not as easy as you think it would be. Since fairings are generally flat I’d just make a complete new piece with carbon. You’ll have a tough time getting resin to stick to the plastic if you don’t. What kind of bike do you have?
i could not agree with you more!
I have a 04 Gsx-r 600, love the bike. but to many people have them. I will do more research
Thanks guys
Eddie
cool, just asking because a guy I know already makes fairings for alot of bikes. I’ll check with him to see if he’s made any 04 gixers.
I found some but I was more interested in doing it myself as a winter project. I have a friend that have carbon overlay on his R6 but it was not done by him
Thanks,
Eddie
I know a guy name Mark Koch that does a lot of motorcycle parts. I did a production run for him last year but that’s about it.

Not to deter you from your project at all. I strongly suggest experimentation with composites. I think it is both fun and rewarding. Just so you know, if done right your project will cost much more than buying the parts already made.

I agree… I am in the process of looking for a good vacuum bagging equipment
Thanks
Eddie
Mark Koch is not doing any Carbon Fiber works… I was going to ask him to make some parts for me but he no longer does outside work. Hence, I’m on this board trying to learn so that I could do stuff myself…
As a newbie, can someone direct me to a step by step on doing an overlay?? mostly plastic parts (interior of a car) and FG parts.
Thank you!
PHILIP
i thought there is a tutorial on the site that was starting about doing interior pieces.
who do you know that does motorcycle parts?
