Carbon fibre ply directions

Hi all
Just need some guidance with Carbon fiber lay up about to start a project and haven’t used carbon for a bit, just need reminding how to read the direction of the carbon material for laying up purposes, what part of the fibre do I follow for your normal 0 90 45 angles? Any diagrams pictures available?
Many thanks

O,90+45and-45 refer to the cut as measured from the warp (fill). On a balanced layup, the plies should be a mirror image around the centre of the stack. Hope that makes sense !

When you have a roll of material “0” is always up the roll, this is in more tension as the fibre are held in tension on the loom and the fibres going side to side are loose.
Looking up the roll as its rolled out in front of you +45 iis to the right, halfway between 12 and 3 on a clock face
0 is across roll and -45 is between 3 and 6 on your imaginary clock face

Basically the 0 is the longest strand since it continues throughout the entire roll if I’m understanding right?

Yes, that’s right.
