Carbon fiber warship

Watching history channel or discovery and seen a clip on Norway or Sweden new warships. Instead of using steel, the hull is 2" carbon fiber with hard foam attached to it. They showed the ship half done and it looked cool. Too bad they paint them. Ill try to find some images

Yup, the first all carbon fiber warship built for the army. There are pictures of some finished ones too. Painted grey I believe.

that is pretty crazy! I bet that set them back a couple bucks

 I’m pretty sure the military had the grey color scheme in mind to make it hard to detect. That’s all we need a big blingin warship.

Can you imagine what that cost to fabricate?!?!

suitable for work.

so it was 184 Million dollars to construct, well that is what the swedish military paid for it

Oh not bad. Let’s gather up our pennies and build us one.

184 mil isn’t bad for a warship. A lot of it probably has to do with the equiped weapontry as well. Not just the boat shell.
