Carbon Fiber Tape?

Hello, I have done my due diligence and have come up with an answer I am not satisfied with. So I bring it here.

Do anyone make carbon fiber tape in a 2/2 twill weave instead of just plain weave?

Instead of just seaming my reinforcement I would like to first lay down the tape and seem the reinforcements within the tape width. So that the cosmetic finish looks better. But I have tested out just using the plain weave tape with my 2/2 twill reinforcement and its OK but not that great.

I don’t know of such a 45deg twill tape.

Maybe you can make some your self with applying spray glue to the back face (or spray glue a tissue to the back?) and cutting the tapes you need.

The glue and or tissue will hold it all neat while being handled and applied to your mould?

I already do similar with hiding joins behind 45 deg twill tapes but I use pre preg, of course this is then easier, clean and makes a nice sharp cut tapes.

Soller composites sells a 1" 2X2 Twill tape.

awesome, thanks a bunch I will definitely be ordering some to try out.

I asked a couple questions about it from info off the site. it looks like it only comes in 1" and by the picture it seems that the stitching is white, which of course black would be beneficial for cosmetic reasons.

The stitching disappears when wet out.

oh ok perfect
