Carbon fiber T-Tops

Hello all,
My first ever attempt in carbon fibre resin infusion.
came out ok apart from a little bridging on the sides, but the seals cover that up

I polished the mold surface and applied Fibrelease. Polyester Tooling Gel Coat and epoxy parts had me worried…the parts basically fell out of the mold with very little effort indeed. what a great chemical release agent!

layup…
2x 3k twill
Soric 3mm
1x 6k plain weave (will be using two next time)
infused 27oz of Adtech resin.

these are pictures right out of the mold, I haven’t polished the surface yet.
Mounted on some scrap T-Tops for fitment checks.

Nice job! What car? I see you’re using Strechlon and Enkaflow media, I love those two products.
Is that a boost gauge for a vac gauge? If so that’s too funny

Maybe you would want to try Divinycell instead of Soric next time.

hahaha yeah its my old boost gage and chopped up pillar pod

my first infusion so i’m unable to comment how good the products are without a comparison. I just researched and watched lots of videos then made my decision. the Strechlon does really work wonders.

My big glass resin trap doubles as a de-gasser and with a quick change up in piping, its a resin trap…oh yes also a cookie jar…

T-Tops are off my 300zx Twin Turbo…well its a single turbo these days.

Ill look into Divincell, thanks for the tip!

whats a good tack spray that wont spoil the surface finish on the final part? or possibly a surface coat of some type before layup?
i’m really trying to obtain a good finish right out of the mold so no further hand work is required.

My guess is they are t tops from a z32 300zx

Bingo, you are correct sir.
making another mold with a helmet bubble
