Hey guys,
here’s my new creation:
Any questions?
pictures don’t show up for me…
Very nice!
I’m looking into make a set for my Harley V Rod right now, still working on the rear fender trying to turn it into a solo fender…
OOOO good luck then, I hope best results.
What kind of surface coat are you using and what weave is that?
Good job on molding the parts, but the surface looks greasy/yellow, and the carbon weave looks a bit distorted. Might be the pictures though, and perhaps it looks OK in person.
No the stripes is ok and the color. The photos I take its afternoon before the sun going to sleep. The weave is 2x2 twill 220gr
you think if you were gonna spam…you’d learn the language your attempting to spam in first…
back on topic - Awesome work!
1 question though - the black you have on the piece. is that sprayed into the mold or onto the final part before clear coat?
Ive heard about spraying colours into the mold before but not sure on how its done and what to use? is normal 2pac paint or acrylic paint ok?
Flawless as usual! looks great
Yes, is sprayed into the mold to geal coat. Then I continue with all the rest
Here’s all the photos of my new creation:
keep em coming
Looks awesome George. Never dissapointed with your work.
One comment though. A tripod would do your photos a world of good. Flash, or, too much direct light hitting carbon always makes the weave look distorted.
As posted above, the weave always looks distorted in his parts. Could also be related to the flash, but the parts seem to have excess clear coating and look greasy.
But the molding of the parts looks pretty good. Good work. How much weight savings compared to stock?
Ohhh thank you guys for your good words. I take my photos always with flash and behind is always the sun. This way the photos is excellent.
The parts are extremely light, just to give you an idea the Suzuki Hayabusa 2006 the original weight of the left big panel is 1.8kg and mine is 768gr, less than 50%.
George, do you use the oem part as a male mould? How are you making the tabs on the backside of the parts?
I have 7 bikes i’m working on doing now… a couple CBR F4i’s, a couple R1’s, a ZX6R, and a couple CBR600RR’s. Just curious to know how you make your your parts. I don’t plan on being huge in the c/f bike world… those guy’s don’t pay enough.
Thanks for sharing
ok,
let’s see,
first go and buy teflon tubes, and 2 ingredients glue. You cut the teflon exactly with the tabs of the original part through lathe or pro drill. After you glue it and leave it for 1 day then you pass the carbon cloths with the resin up to it and is finish.
