Canadian Greetings

I have returned home and am working in the industry again. I am hoping to inspire the coming generation of composites aerostructures designers/analysts with old and new “tricks” learned over the last 30 years in Canada, Germany, and the US.

“Happy” employers/clients have included MBB/Eurocopter, BMW Technik GmbH, Fairchild Dornier, MTU Aeroengines, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, NUWC, DARPA TTO and PWC.

Looking forward to questions from materials selection/processing for specific environmental spectra, as well as Static and Dynamic applications of Polymeric Matrix Composites.

Welcome home ! I am going to love your input I can tell already. Anything interesting that you got to work on at BMW technique ?

Fellow Canuck here…welcome to the board!!

Thanks for the response. I always new that I had fellow innovators in the “Great White North”
BMW Technik GmbH was in the mid 90’s a wholly owned daughter company on Hanauer Strasse (built around a WInd Tunnel). The project I was brought in for was internally called the ZT22 and was presented externally as Z22 in 2000 at a Japanese Auto Show. My responsibility within the Body-in-White group was to define crashworthy connections between the major body sections as well as defining the geometry and laminate scheme for the Floor Structure (Tunnel) and A-Pillar/FWD Crash Wall/Beam system.
