can i do this to get a deeper glossy finish:

instead of layers and layers of resin and sanding, what if i made a fiberglass mold of the part, then laid 3-4 layers of resin, then lay the fabric on the 4th layer while it’s tacky and finish that way? i ran out of gelcoat and want to finish a part for a friend of mine.

or you can just lay the product and use automotive clear, you can even get it in a rattle can now, or use a top coat of some sort.

not good w/ the automotive clear. no matter how many layers i put, it never builds up, and if it does, it always distorts into a white color in some spots.

with top coats, is that brushed on over and over and sanded down? or is it usually just poured on for a smooth surface?

duratec makes a topcoat that is sprayed on that builds nicely! www.duratec1.com , I bet you can get it from Evan
