Hey guys, the only way I get for both side glossy finish carbon plate… is to make two of them and bond together, do you ever heard of any other solution ?
You could use a caul plate to get a smooth B-Side but you may need to add something in the middle for flow, like Soric.
I could use glass on both side…but like you said flow media is needed and i dont want to use it
Infuse to plate (tool one side) peel ply prep the other. Cure, remove peel ply. Mix, degas, apply resin, cure to plate. You will have to be careful about small bubbles. Never tried it just throwing things out there.
infuse between glass and aluminum (or other material) caul plate. Use micromesh to increase the permability between and a very low viscosity resin system.
How big is the plate you are trying to create?
Its 40x50 centimeters. What is micromesh?
Vectorply makes a material called micromesh. Its very fine nylon (I believe nylon) which you can place between layers of material to help increase permability in the laminate. I have infused 6mm double sided carbon panels close to 800mm in distance using this material. without it I woul be lucky to make it 150mm.
