Bored, here are some pics

First one is 2 panels. One is 2 layers, the other is 9. I love 3D fabrics.

second pic is hell resin. Viscosity is 1000…at 122f!!! Yes, it is an infusion resin. Just pouring out 2 pint jars of this crap took ALL DAY LONG. Heat it to 160f, and poof, viscosity drops to 200.

Are those both stitched fabrics? And the resin, before you infuse you have to heat it up? I’m stunned that it drops down to 200 cps. I was marveling at a resin that reaches 700 cps. What do you infuse with it?

Can you get into the processing behind those 2 plates a bit further?

Who makes the 3d stitched reinforcement?

the fabric isn’t really a “stitched” fabric like from Saertex, or VectorPly. It has full woven fiberglass (et al) z-fibers, which is a way to limit delamination. The fabric is from 3-Tex INC, which I think is crashing anyway. They come in sizes like 28oz, 50, 100, 250, up to 950oz fabrics. Yup…

resin is a Huntsman product…pain in the arse, since you have to degas it while hot…and that stuff foams like crazy!!!
