Bonding a 2-piece fender

Hello. I am constructing a carbon fiber front fender from a motororcycle right now.
The first idea was a 4-piece mold and a normal 1-piece carbon fiber part.
Unfortunately it needs some magic to lay up right the cloth at the spot of bolts so I am thinking of making it on 2-pieces and then bonding them together.
The only think I am worried about is that the bonding spot is quite thin. And I mean as thin as a 800gsm carbon fiber part.

What is your opinion for that? Will it hold?

Also recommend adhensive type ( Epoxy, Polyourethane, MMA, Cyanoacrylate?)

Thank you very much.

You can very easily make your own filler/bonding putty. By mixing in either 3M glass bubbles/microballons or a thickener such as silica, cab-o-sil, etc with your epoxy to make a putty. You can mix it to the desired thickness and die to tint, sands fairly easily. It also makes a great lightweight strong filler around inserts, T-nuts, or to bold backing plates.

If it is not a “mission critical” part bond, this method will work great and give you a strong bond.

Ohhh thats very interested. At what parts have you try it?
