and no one say I need to mow my lawn I am going to do it right now
NICE GRASS!
…and fender too!
dam nice work
ditto great job! - sleep is an urban myth
Thank you. This was my first attempt to a multipeice mold, it was 3 pieces per fender. These are all infused with VER and a coremat sandwiched core.
Looks brilliant. Can you show some pics of the molds? Im making some for a 1996 Silvia.
I will try and take some pics of the molds for you
Looks beautiful…Epoxy or VER ?Also, did you use in mold gelcoat or clear it after the pull ?
You mentioned core-mat…was that placed as a back side exposed or was it fully sandwiched between more CF ?
And one more prying Q"…how many total layers of CF minus the coremat?
thanks…Vinny 8)
These were for a customer, I have not made one yet that we would sell that is sandwiched coremat. This is just one layer of carbon and 4oz of fiberglass. It is infused with VER. It is also just run of the mill marine gelcoat in the mold
Still very nice…with the shape and curves, did that build seem faily installable ? Or was it too light and flexy ?

it has a full underframe, if you look at the picture kinda from the side you can see some of it, it is very sturdy
Well sure ! lol. I need to apply what I see to what I read better ! lol.
It has a jamb panel …and you said 2 more pieces as well ? Must be near the headlight area s’ ?
…what would you estemate the overall time was per completed fender ?
…Vinny
I have about 4 hours in manufacturing, shaping, and boxing.
I charged $799 for them
They are OEM fit, I have not seen them installed yet but he says they fit perfect.
Sweet turn around time ! I look forward to some work that yields 100-200.00$ an hour…before overhead of course…lol.
Would love to see a few good angles of your mold flanges and small parts additional molds.I have to eventually make oldschool DAtsun/Nissan fender in CF.

yea that kind of money would be great but if it were that easy every body would be doing it
what kind of time do you have in the molds and how many do you think you will sell in a years time
i have a set of 61 chevy fenders guy provided good fenders to copy and 600.00 for first set now they have been on my web site for a year waiting to sell at 250.00 a set
you are right there is a lot more to factor in then just time.
You’ll never hear me say anything’s EASY regarding CF manufacturing processes, let alone the cost ! But I always try and engineer the highest yield methods and make duplicate molds for having more pieces in post cure to sooner pay for the R&D time invested. But with hoods I’ll only run two at a time max.
Still looking forward to your mold pix

Would these be for a Chevy 2 / Nova? Fiberglass or CF?
I have a couple of students wanting to make molds of them for a drag type car and if these are them, I’ll direct them to you to save the cost of materials for the mold and parts…evne though, they want the experience of making the molds but we only have less than a month left in school!
sorry biscane --bellair and I belive there was 1 more chevy but not nova I belive the first nova was produced 62 a 62-65 fender would work
