Blue Flow MEdia

I gotta say, it works 1000000 times better then the red or green flow media. i didnt have to double this up to much and it flowed through my mold in less then 2 mins. its a 33inch long mold, thats about 25 inchs wide.

Where and how much was the blue flow media?

Enkafusion?

i got it straight from the people who make it!
delstar, a roll is 45.00 16 yards. trust me, i doubled up on the red stuff on the same mold, and it took 10-15 mins to infuse. 1 layer of this NICE flex stuff, and it ran like water through the system. 1-4 mins infused.

How about contact phone, website or E-mail addy?

Part number too?

Cool website too. Theres a few products I think might be usefull down the road.

The more I look at its site the more it looks like you could use several of there other products at flow medium.

I think this may be what Luisn was referring to. Halfway through the material (page 2 of the .pdf) listing in this link you’ll see the “blue” media he mentioned, part #1783. Direct buy, too!

YES! i can ship some samples if you guys want. a yard of it?

Yes I’ll agree 100%, the blue from them is the fastest that I’ve tried of the nettings of similar sizing. I recently posted here about it: http://www.compositeforum.werksberg.com/showthread.php?p=12871#post12871

It is good stuff. 1783-B and it is 30" wide by 48’ long. The rolls run $49.50 each direct from them. It is also the most flexible of the ones I posted a picture of in the link above. It is the way it is extruded the strands sit on top of each other more than the others.

But I’m gunna stick with the red for now because you get over double the amount for less cost. And get it from richmond for a few bucks less than delstar and I can avoid shipping cost. CA gets taxed from Delstar btw too. I’d like to try some of the Enkafusion stuff though, but think it might be out of my price range for what I’m doing. Or find an even cheaper alternative that works. That’s why I asked about the shade cloth. But it looks like no one here has tried it either. If I find it I’ll test it though.

Susan Emory is the lady that I’ve seen at the SAMPE a few times. Email her to get the blue stuff: semory AT delstarinc DOT com

Yes! susan is the one i have been dealing with. tell her Luis sent you and you’ll get a better price!

don’t you risk dry spots or bubbles if the resin runs over the reinforcements too quickly? and not enough resin remains to wet out everything?

Man, Ive never had a problem with my infusion due to the red media.

Ive used the red and the green and neither made much of a difference and I infuse out of way to small of a line (1/4")cause Im a cheap ass in that one department.

I can buy a bag of “irrigation” T’s and some line at lowes for 12 bucks (50 t’s and 100 feet of line)

Thats probably my biggest problem…I need to change up to the bigger stuff or at least a line size.

Hey, i actually thought about the whole T’s thing. You really dont need it. Im using hard lines Polyeth lines. What i do is i cut it straight down the middle and split it into a Y shape. Then i put the spiral wrap into it. this goes the same for the vac. lines. then i put a little bit of flow media around the Y area so it doesnt get vacuum by the bag.
