I know about the blue Carbon Kevlar (I have some and the blue looks pretty “dark” after being wet and laid up), but I remember going to a trade show a few years ago and they had a BRIGHT blue weave “carbon fiber”. I know it was similar to something like a carbon/kevlar, but I wanted to say it was a carbon/poly**** mix of somekind (with me not remembering what came after the poly part). I could be totally wrong though.

Does anyone know of a place where I can get a light blue weave carbon/something fiber?

Yeah, I don’t like how blue kevlar gets so dark. I have a keyfob of one, and I can’t tell the difference between the CF and the Kevlar!

Yeah, I want the lighter color. The darker Kevlar matches my dark blue Regal, but the Bright Blue RX8 I have would match that bright blue fiber perfect.

The person/company that had the stuff at the PR show had a podium/countertop covered with this light blue fiber… I just wish I had kept the catalog/business card I picked up from them.

No one has a clue on where to get the stuff??? Obviously someone makes it. Just need to find out who.

That type of material is made in Italy, and some in France.

Any links??? I have tried looking for hours online and have not yet been able to find a hit on this cloth.

I actually ran across that site earlier today… But they did not have any pictures to see if they had was I was looking for. I did see their “artic ice” fabric… I think that is not quite what I am looking for but might send them a line and find out if they do have the cloth that I am trying to find.

If you are looking for kevlar/carbon hybrid with the kevlar dyed blue, that is listed on the Carre site under “K series dyed kevlar”

Most of the material offered by Carre is expensive even here in the UK, so maybe a very good idea to look at the possibility of using Eglass rather than carbon or carbon hybrids, for parts that are purely cosmetic?

Problem is I am NOT looking for the kevlar (at least as far as I know) as I have a blue carbon/kevlar and it is too dark (especially after wetting). The BRIGHT blue I am looking for was like a polyester/carbon or something and that is really want I am looking for.

Never seen any carbon/polyester (?), and think you are going to need quite a bit of luck locating something like this…

The material in the earlier pics, looked like Eglass to me, with warp and weft different colours.

Lot of this type of thing is made in Italy, so google search along those lines might turn something up.

Where did you get those pics from. Did you email the company (if so from), and ask them where they got it, or what it actually is?

Also, contact some weavers/braiders and see if they can supply carbon and coloured polyester (or other dye-able thermoplastic).
That might work.

Wow… thanks. That almost looks too “tealy”, but definitely seems like it is on the right track.
