bit the bug! robinair 15600

yes… it’s time to start on some projects!

first thing’s first… i bought this used 15600 used and am wondering what else do i need to start an infusion project?

the list to my understanding:

  • oil for the used pump
  • spiral wrap for ?? (yankton used it under the bag for some reason)
  • tubing for vacuum and resin infusion
  • bagging film
  • t-fittings for vacuum gauge
  • vacuum gauge

for the mold:

  • pva and wax
  • tooling gel (orange, red?)
  • fiberglass
  • cheapo brush

for practice:

  • gelcoat
  • epoxy
  • fiberglass

for project:

  • cf 2x2 twill or any other fabric to conform to the shape of mold

am i missing anything here? and since icancomposites is now closed, where can i find vendors to these supplies? any in the southern california region?

thank you in advance!

Since you didn’t add to your bio where you are…I take it you are in So. Calif. area?

Try www.revchem.com and tell them “JM” from GGROP told you for most all of the PER and the like…

For the fittings, tubing and the like, try www.usplastics.com

Or sign up for my free Fiberglass and Plastics ROP class in Garden Grove (714) 663-6546, or drop by on Thursday, 3/24 @ 6 pm till 9:30 pm for demos on Vacuum Infusion, Vacuum bagging and over laying carbon fiber…

Rancho High School, Rm #706 (south side of the campus), 11351 Dale Ave. by Beach Blvd. and Katella Ave, just south of Knott’s Berry Farm…

GGROP, yes i am located in the southern california region. right now i reside in riverside.

i will certainly call for that class when time permits… a good foundation step towards composite fabrication.

excellent information! thank you very much.

Revchem is in Bloomington, near you…
