I’ve never tried this, but a layer of thin fiberglass that wets out clear (4 oz or less per yard cloth with a very fine weave) can reduce or eliminate the print through. I’ve read this from a couple of sources in boatbuilding & modeling forums, but take it for what it’s worth because I’ve never seen the results.

i have some stuff for fiberglass stuff for print through, can I just make my gel coat thicker?

Yes or use surfacing veil…

What is this print through you speak of?

I believe it is where the weave/texture “prints” through to the top layer, so instead of having a smooth surface, the surface shows the texture of the carbon weave.
