Beginner needs help with fraying

Hello guys I am new to this forum and CF laminating. I have made a couple of small simple flat mouldings using twill cloth and epoxy wet layup with good results. The biggest problem I have found is fraying of the edge of the carbon cloth. On the simple stuff I put masking tape on the edges and let them overhang the mould. I now want to move on to a more complex part that will require some cut edges and joints inside the mould area. I have seen 77 glue mentioned on this forum but cannot see how this would work with wet layup. If it will is it available in the UK? Are there any other techniques available? Also is there anyone in the UK who would sell me some small samples so I can learn about the different types of weave and weight of cloth available?

Not an answer, but a further question to yours. How does one make a seam look clean when you have to use several pieces of CF in a single mold?

For a great CF sample package, try contacting www.carb.com for theirs. And please, tell them you heard it from here…
