Hey guys,
This morning I went through the database and purged all the known spammers. In addition I tweaked a number of anti spam measures recently. I’m hoping the combination of the two keeps them out for good. Spammers are pretty persistent though so we’ll see.
As always though database edits could accidentally mess things up. If something is different with your account please send me a PM or post in this thread and I’ll do my best to fix it.

If you purge the spammers list I built up, then then can come back in…
They’re ip banned now but their user profile is gone so it reduces the size of the database. There sure was a lot of them.

Spammers mostly use one-time throw away usernames. So purging them does no harm. IP banning is more effective, but is cumbersome to maintain, and can affect good willing people.
