avatar help?

hey all…

when i try to upload an avatar i get these messages…

does anyone know why its doing this, or how i could upload the avatar another way?

I think avatars have been disabled. No one has them.

I have an avatar, it is just advertising for a friends company but an avatar never the less

I had to resize mine about 10 times till it was right size in shape and file size. But I have had mine a couple months and it might be disabled to add any new ones

Hey is there any chance avatars can be turned back on?

If the space is the issue then just linked pics could be used.

Any feedback on the topic?

I know it can get to be a hassle if people abuse the option, but it much easier to scan topics for good info when you see a familiar face so to speak.

Avatars are enabled. Just go into your user control panel and upload your image. Note that the maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller). You can see that I have an avatar that is active.

If anyone has suggestions on this site, just ask and we do what we can. I know, fix the tutorial pictures…they are lost forever and we are working on new ones.

But give us time as I have been very busy and back logged with stuff…here’s the latest classroom improvements alone:

I have done this many times so I think* I am doing it right, the file I am trying to upload is a jpg. File 45x45 pixels that is 1.5 kb. I have tryed other formats with similar success.

So it meets these requirement easily, but all I get when tring to upload a file is

 Upload of file failed.

and if i try to link a avatar i get

 Remote file uploads have been disabled.

I did notice both yours but just thought it was an administrative privilege.:smiley:

Though it will show the pic in the appropriate avatar box “Your Current Profile Picture”, so there must be something that does not let it go through when we users finish the edit profile picture.

Do any of the users have there avatars?
It actually held mine through the forum transfer, but did not display, hence the reason I assumed it was disabled by the admin account.

Anyway if this could be fixed or reinstated I would appreciate it greatly.
