In the process of putting finishing touches to an autoclave installation at work and now need to order a number of thermocouples. However, I have limited experience of thermocouples and could do with some advice. We’re looking mainly at type J, K, so my questions are: Can anyone recommend a good supplier in Ireland / UK? Additionally, are there huge cost differences in these types?
thanks
Airtech has both types. In the UK that would be Tygavac.
We use PT100’s in our autoclaves as they have the advantage of being easily repairable when the cable is cut. A thermocouple is made with a specific cable which can’t joined when cut. The time of sensor you use will influence the equipment used to read and display the temp.
Any electrical wholesale supplier should carry a good range of sensors and should be of some help with selection. And they would likely be cheaper than a composite supply company.

thanks. I didnt realise tygavac do them.
I see the pt100s are pretty cheap Moke compared to some other probes I was looking at, certainly worth trying a few of them too thanks.
