Hi again, sorry for my silly questions but please is there any article that tells you the proccedure of the autoclave, pre-preg how to do it?
Maybe an idea to look at the costs involved before asking specific questions about the process?
Outs, that cost only 85000$ to 125000$ cooooooollll:cool:
My class did oven curing CF pre-pregs and I’m even playing around using air cured CF PP and wet lay ups which work too!
That’s is interesting Werksberg!!!
check out airtech’s website. otherwise just check around online for info. I saw a good one recently, but I don’t remember where it was from.
We don’t do autoclave stuff, just pre-preg, vac bag, and cook in an oven.
What is the air dry CF pre-preg? where can you get those?
It was donated and getting onto 2+ years old (30 days MAX. for areospace use while in controlled freezer / time out of the freezer too). Still works great in our classroom oven under vacuum bagging but…
It has been in others and our freezer too but I wanted to see if it was air dryed if you could use it like regural non Pre-preg CF cloth.
For flatish panels…YES! It will lay down and you can still wet it out manually and or vacuum bag it! With curves…it takes some playing with it or cutting and darting.
Never stop thinking & experimenting is my motto!
If only I had a big money backer on my list of new products and ideas…
Oddly, my boss was talking about ROOMtemp cure pre-preg. No such thing as air-dry pre-preg…since um…you don’t WANT the epoxy to dry out!
Of course he told me it was for a solid 8ft dia mold…right.
