Is the bleed schedule used for autoclave cured parts similar to that used in typical vacuum bag only processing? I have found that with VBO, fiberglass bleeder absorbs up to it’s own weight in resin-- so you can calculate how much bleeder to use. Does this hold true in the autoclave? Is more bleeder required since it is being squeezed to a thinner dimension?
You will be squeezing out more resin than vac bagging using the same cure cycle. I have “heard” the bleeder/layer ratio is 1:5…but I only use net resin prepreg, so I don’t bleed any resin out.
