APRILIA SHIVER Carbon fiber project

Hi guys before 3 months I finished all the parts for the APRILIA SHIVER 2008-10. Was not easy to find them but I have many friend all over the world that help me out. I create the polyester molds and after many hours of testing the quality finally is finished.

Below I present all the parts on the bike:

Looks like someone spend many many hours of hard work, nice parts.
How you deal with carbon print through, doeas it “sit” on sunny weather

Hi george_grat, great WORK, quick question for you, do you post cure your part in and an oven, if so how do you pull it off since your molds are polyester coz i’ve heard that polyester cannot withstand heat or you cure them outside the mold?

thanks

I have 2 types of molds, one is Vinyl mold that is strong at 250C and the 2nd classic mold with high temperature polyester (160C) which mean no need to demold the panel. Usually we are using the second type of molds.

please explain what do you mean sit on sunny weather :stuck_out_tongue:

hehe my english is poor quality , I mean the effect of print through carbon on resin surface, especially in higher temperatures like 40-50 degrees, surface become not flat with touch of hand

depens the way you apply the carbon on the mold, if you use gel coat or not. If not the surface is flat :stuck_out_tongue:

So you mean using gelcoat causes the surface is not flat?

can be flat but you have to apply the gel coat with good spray gun.
