Anyone have read these and could tell are those worth of buying for?

I purchased those two books, and read them within the last two months. I thought they were good books for learning composites layup techniques, and mold making techniques. I had a bit of prior knowledge so the first book was pretty slow reading for me but reinforced some of the basics. The second book was much more interesting to me because it discussed more advanced layup techniques. I would recommend them for the price. Being an engineer, I’d like to see some more theory but I knew that wasn’t going to be covered in this book. Overall I’d recommend the books.

It depends on how serious you are about this trade. If you want to do it as a hobby or low volume production then the internet is your friend. Now days with youtube there is little reason to purchase books like these. However, I never read them. So I can’t be too sure. These books might just be what you need, but I guarantee its all online and on youtube.

I’ve got both of them, they provide some usefull information and good photos without many tips or details though, so it depends on the level you are. As 2talljohn said internet is your friend you can find many usefull information on youtube and sites and especially forums but the best tool is this: “try it on your own and learn from your mistakes” not everything works for everyone, I bet people here will agree… oh and keep notes…after a while with all this testing you forget.

He’s right. Nothing helps more than experience. I’ve been doing this as a full time job for three yeas so far and I’m still learning.

I´ve bought both books. First part, is quite basic, background on different laminating techniques, materials and fundamentals.
Part two is more practiable: goes through prepreg (using a silicon pressure piece), bladder technique, vacuum infusion in detail.

Personally the second part was more rewarding and interesting to read. Especially the bladder technique.
