Any know of a clear gel coat that doesn't use MEK?

I am looking for a clear gel coat I can use indoors (so nothing that uses a MEK catalyst).

Does such a product exist? I searched the Internet until my head hurt and found nothing.

I thought I would ask you guys before I give up hope.

For use with epoxy?

The only thing I can sort of recommend is a UV stabilised epoxy like Kraftkote. It’s more of an art/benchtop epoxy, but it is fairly tough and nice and clear and plays nice with other epoxies, so you can use it as a ‘gelcoat’.

The only issue is, I haven’t tried it on anything other than flat sheets. I use it on flat sheets for the same reason as you, I make them indoors and need something low-VOC. It is fairly thick, and so I think it could work on a mould with curvature, but I haven’t tried it. It is a self-levelling epoxy, so isn’t very thixotropic, so it may sag on verticals and not work for you.

Yes, it is for use with epoxy. And yes, the parts have vertical surfaces so I was hoping that a more gel-like consistency would help it stay on.

I currently have to resort to spraying on clear surface coats in thin layer which takes ages if you need a thick surface coat, or I use epoxy bar top and wait for it to reach that gel but still semi-self-leveling stage which kinda works but is not very repeatable.

I’ll try kraftkote. It can’t be any harder to use than bartop epoxy…
