Any caveats for 2nd layer of clear gelcoat?

Is there anything that needs to be done to lay down another thin layer of clear gelcoat (surface coat) on an already cured clear gelcoat layer?

Not unless the first coat has any surfacing agent (liquid wax) added, and then just wash with acetone.

As far as I know it’s a wax free gelcoat. I’ll verify for sure.

I always wash the part with houshold ammonia before sanding to remove any trace of wax left from the mold, maybe I’m just a little anal but amonia strips wax real good, just don’t breathe it.
