Another dry fibre logo

Here’s another logo ready to flip over and place in the mould.

Are you gluing the material to a backing then running it through a cutter?

Awesome work!!

Yep, spray tack a light layer onto the back @+/-45. In this case I used 84g plain weave glass.
Very sharp scissors, very sharp knife and patience!

Then you just place in mould and infuse? Id love to have a go. Edges look really neat good work

Great work, i do not have the patient to do that by hand with a knife. Respect!. Is the white fabric Dynema?

And whts the blue?

Kudos to you! I tried to do exactly what you are doing with a silver Texalium fabric and no matter how hard I tried, I could not get the sharp edges to stop fraying. Beautiful work!!

That’s some really sharp edges! Good work

very clever
very nice work

Im pretty sure the “white” is Texalium (shiny silver on one side and quite firm fabric) and the blue is just blue dyed glass twill but I would prefer to get the texalium for that too. So here’s a question, Where do I get texalium?

I know BGF has a new material called Baracuda, which is an aluminumized glass. VERY drapable, not like texalium. I got a few yard sample from BGF directly. zThey can give you distro information.

soller composites has lots of specialty fabrics available by the yard

Are soller any good hojo

I think they have good service. If you get custom dyed or standard color material it usually takes a day or two for it to ship because they don’t dye the fabric until they get your order. Which can be a good thing. If you call you can speak with John Soller the owner, he is very nice and helpful if you have any questions on how to use his products. One time the site showed an item instock when it wasn’t so to make up for it he added 5yards to my Basalt/Carbon order for free.

Thanks Guys

I recommend soller also I first dealt with him almost ten years ago

I wonder what hes like shipping over the pond

Very nice work!

thanks for the referral. I’ll look into Soller. What about BGF, is there a website?
