Aluminum logo

Does anybody use aluminum flexible logos when laying carbon in vacuum bagging? How do you usually proceed?
I know that the logo can be put on the mould, and up on this the layers of carbon. In this way, due to the pressure of air, it is embedded into the first layer of carbon.
Is this the right way?
Thanks all for your tips.

Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,

We always design the logo in to our moulds. That said, the logo is usually manufactured as a separate piece and then installed in to the plug ,prior to manufacturing the mould.

On a rare occasion the customer has requested their logo be added to a product after the tooling had been produced. For this we have simply had the logo machined out of aluminium and secured to the mould using double sided tape. This was used on a fairly small production run, although no resin bleed was evident between the logo and the mould.

Many thanks for your explanation, I am having a look at your website and page, and I will try as soon to develop a better logo for my products.
