Alternative to ovens...

What do you think about these heating fabric? looks interesting.

Very interesting. I have been looking at re useable silicone bags via Alan Harper, and have seen his integrated heating element in the bag material as a nifty method as well.

Bare in mind that has a max rating of 180*. If your post cure steps require a higher cure tg, then this won’t dial you in fully.

Still very cool.

The one I spoke of claims sustainable 240-250 deg. Celsius.

The problem silicon bags arent cheap. 180ºC should be enough. Standard aeronautical prepreg postcures are 177º. Low temp postcures are 100-120º

In my case i would require about 10000 to 12000 watt (wing mold). A bit too much

Got sun?

With sun you cant get a progresive temp ramp upI would say

In Ireland, we could produce approximately 2 small parts per year using the sun-curing approach

Well, if you have a PID system and fans, you can beam the sun on a collector (steel plate) and control the heat that way. Else change how much sun hits the collector plate, via shade, or unfocused lens system.
