Im looking at making some 50mm tube.
Ive done a bit of searching but haven’t really come up with much.
Whats been tried and tested? and cost effective?
I don’t have access to an oven so pre preg is a no go at the moment.

i think you have to give a whole lot more info before that question can be answered
is it a structural tube or just cosmetic ? what wall thickness do you need ? does it need to have a nice pretty shiny finish ?
wrapping PVC tube with a few layers of cloth and then slipping a braid over works quite well …
Its just cosmetic, thickness no more than 1mm and yes it needs to be a nice glossy finish on the outside.
Do you have more info on the PVC tube trick?
not really a trick… I’v made tubes on PVC pipes. If you want the good exterior finish though, you’ll probably have some finishing work to do after. I used heat shrink wrap for compaction and it gave a decent surface but, of course you can see the impression of the wrap.
Is there a reason you do not just buy one? there are plenty of quality manufacturers.
