adding more epoxy and cloth to project

I’m playing on moving slowly with a project because of inexperience and cost, I want to add fiberglass and epoxy layers, maybe one or two per day (total of 4 or 5 layers) over the course of 1 week… what technique do I use for this? Prep and otherwise?

Thanks in advance

at the very least you should use peel ply to have a good surface to bond to for each round of lamination. After the question would be what are you making and if you need a vacuum process or not.

I’m making cosplay armor. Question? … How do you vacuum 3D objects- wouldn’t that crush or deform them?

depends if the pressure is equal or not, or if the materials are strong enough to resist or not. Since there’s no photos or details of what you’re making its hard to say if its a problem or not.

Double sided 3D parts are typically made in a 2-part mold. Each side can be vacuum bagged separately and then the two halves can be joined later.

To make them at the same time, you could use an inflatable bladder but it’s probably too much trouble to go to for a one-off project.

I assume armor is best made in two parts anyway (or you wouldn’t be able to put it on).
