A large weave style I tried

I got bored, so I got some samples from Oxeon in Sweden.

Middle plate is standard 5.9oz/yd plain weave.
Top is a 12k 40gsm, and the bottom is 12k 9gsm.

Second pic is what happens when you don’t have ULTRA-high temp materials when you hit 850f. My tackytape went to powder.
Not sure what the strings were…ain’t cobwebs!

Somewhere I saw someboby posted some pictures of a Formula 1 engine cover using Oxeon Textreme. Could somebody guide me to those pictues, please.

love to see that!!!

stuff isn’t overly infusable though…I need to test some more though.

Thank you!

Thats just awesome.

that is different to say the least. I think i would have to paint over that weave to hide it, but I know many others would like it.

We just laid up a part with some 12K plain or box weave… each “tow?” is like 1/4 inch wide. You would think by now i would understand 3K, 6K and “tow” meanings. All I know is 3k 6oz is weak by itself. I used some 6K, 9oz twill that was nice and kinda heavy.

ive used quite a bit of the fabric that has about a quarter of an inch weave on it. It works great for flater items but tring anything complicated shape wise and it does not want to form at all
