96-00 Civic Rear Cargo Cover 2pc, underside finished

This is my newest project. I have been tring to find ways to improve the underside of some of my projects and this is the first one that I did that has a fully finished underside and mounting brackets. What do you think?

Looks AWESOME!!! I would have probably used hinges pop riveted on the inside though.

this is how the customer wanted it so I did it

Come on then dish the dirt! It looks ace but what was/ is the bottom layer of fabric? It doesnt look like the flow media stuff you used on the engine cover.
And while im asking how did you go about doing the mounting brackets? they sort of look welded, in which case did you spray the underside with a mat paint for finish.

What ever you did it worked!! (and the hinges on top look nice)

The stock part had an underside to it sort of, I made a mold of that and made it out of fiberglass. Then I put metal rods for the mounting points and fiberglassed them in, then I put the 2 pieces together and sealed it.

Wow simple but very effective. Congrats!

(when evan comes back i think were going to have to ask him to change your name  , maybe a No infront)

 yeah it was simple but mae the mounting process flawless

it does look good what did you use to bond the 2 parts and how long did you wait to bond them i ask because i have 1 (and 1 only) hood that has 2 finished sides i use cabosiled resin and have to wait 3 days after laying up the top or the cabosil will wrinkle the top

I use a marine structual adhesive that I got from a place that makes composite parts for the military. They use it for helo blades. It is very exspensive. I got a quart of it for about $75 but you need very little and WILL NOT come off. You can use a marine adhesive from home depot too.

marine adhesive i tried from plexus stuff would bite like crazy ripes the part before seperating but it left lines in top of my hood

i think the one I used to use was called goop from home depot before I starded using this
