31hrs and 7 minutes

from NewYork City to the coast of southern California… in a car.

I wondered how how they avoided police! lazer jammers, escort aircraft, night vision goggles without using headlights, tail light off switch, cb radio, police scanner, gps for time/ geographic location… and one fast modded out car… probably a huge fuel cell also. I think the Audi R8 is my favorite
All I can think of about that liquid cooled box thing up front is something to do with radar?? Possibly the R8 owner does not want to discuss the car because that black box was hijacked from a company that makes US Military stuff, and how would our lovely gov’t feel about their secret tech stuff ending up in civilian hands and on the highways?

Interesting trip. But I wouldn’t want to be driving through several of those states. Some highway patrol have no sense of humor at all.
But I have done LA to Vegas in 2:15 minutes (during daylight!), and it’s normally a 3 1/2 trip at least. I think it’ll be a long time before I can even get close to doing that again.

I’d love to be able to do that trip on a modern literbike/sportbike like the R1 or ZX10R… top speed  ( assuming it was safe and legal because hell knows I don’t need one more ticket on my license). At 155mph on two wheels hitting a small bump in the road is freaking scarry, exilerating when your wheel lifts off pavement for one second and one hundred yards. I knew it was time to settle down after that

You have to appreciate this… $1.37 million to buy one.

R8 Assembly Factory: (the bare chasis weighs only 60 LBS) The car could use more use of carbon fiber imho

I’m really surprised the guy in the BMW got away with this, he would have been taken to court over here, not interviewed on the news! They do look at footage on Youtube and prosecute accordingly - a biker recently had charges made against him when he put footage of himself on there doing 130 and various other tricks:

I think “GhostRider” has yet to be caught… he lives in Denmark or a country similar to that… video tapes himself weaving in and out of traffic, wheeling, on a sportbike usually doing 130mph +

The police know who he is but until they catch him in the act, in that country the police can’t do anything. But from what i heard he retired from doing that lol.

There are a lot of people doing that on bikes, but it’s much easier to hide and escape. It rather difficult to identify one sportbike from another in most cases.

I’ve had some fun with guys on bikes, but they usually give up after 150. Had one guy on a Busa stay next to me until I let off at almost 180. Bikes might have the potential to go fast, but they don’t do too well with a slight breeze or imperfect roads.

…when i moved i drove from deleware to phoenix in 28 1/2hrs.

I got 4 of the Ghost Rider vids on DVD - Hes got BIG BALLS…
